Can YDL 4.1 make use of a B&W G3's internal modem for dialup networking?
The machine is a 450 MHz blue & white G3, 512M ram, and Apple System
Profiler reports the modem as:
Modem
	Name:	PowerMac G3 Series Internal 56K
	Protocol:	V.90
	Version:	V2.200-V90

I've tried configuring via KPPP to no avail. Coincidentally, all the
device options for the modem that KPPP offers, namely /dev/modem,
/dev/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS1... do not exist in /dev directory.

I've also tried wvdial, using a wvdial.conf file patterned after the
example shown in
http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_4.0/dialup.shtml

Here's my wvdial.conf:

[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttys0
Baud = 57600
Dial Command = ATDT
Init = ATZ
Init2 = AT S11=50
Phone = 303-247-1104
Username = xxxxx
Password = xxxxx
Init3 = ATM0

Running wvdial returns
  Cannot open /dev/ttys0: Input/output error

Similar results for Modem=/dev/ttys1, ttys2, etc.

Has anyone successfully configured the internal G3 modem?

Thanks,
John P.
