Hi Rev:
I'm glad that you are moving ahead pursuing your interests and
achieving them.  That's what Linux is really all about in my opinion;
the opportunity to do everything your way. I was considering your
request when I remembered that I did address this type of question
regarding yum.conf last year. Here is the link:

http://lists.terrasoftsolutions.com/pipermail/yellowdog-general/2005-September/019900.html

I recommend that instead of merely copying what is there; that you take
the time to investigate closely each baseurl.
In short, study how each directory within a url points to where
the yum repositories are. If you can learn that, then you'll always be
able to understand where the yum repositories are kept and should there
be an error where yum can not find something you'll be able to intuit
that there were changes made to, or by those who own, the
server or mirrors where the repositories lie. You'll be able to correct
it and submit your correction or update of yum.conf to a list like this.

The yum.conf file I presented then was a modification upon what others
had presented. Unfortunately, I don't recall what my modifications
were; what is more important however is that the servers where the
repositories exist can and do change.

Best wishes ....

Derick,
I find adding more url's to yum.conf file fascinating. What a great idea!
I went to the yum website and tried to understand all the necessary
things to edit my
yum.conf file. Could you please send me a copy of your yum.conf file
so I may find my error. I'll send mine in the following e-mail
Thanks again
rRob
