Great!  What's madwifi?

I have been working my way up to building a custom kernel, primarily
to add Atheros support, but also to prune out things that I don't need
(Firewire, PCMCIA, RAID and so on...) but I'm new to Linux and I'm not
sure where to get the kernel source from (it may be on one of the YDL
4.1 CDs) or exactly how to go about rolling a custom kernel.  Now that
5.0 is on the way, perhaps I should wait anyway.
