I've hit a log jam and can't get wireless to work with WPA.

Has anyone succeeded on the PS3 with the new kernel? If so any tips?

Is WPA support even possible with this wireless driver? or perhaps just WEP?

My history:
I previously didn't have an ethernet connected, so when I successfully got
to step 6 above, system-config-network, it already had an ok against the
hardware status but deactivated eth0 wireless device. (no gelic_net device
in sight)

[iwconfig reported eth0 as having wireless extensions]

I use WPA-PSK encryption and have successfully configured wpa_supplicant to
work on my x86 linux with madwifi.

Anyway, attempting to activate eth0 results in the check cable message.
[ifconfig eth0 up followed by ifconfig shows the device recognised ]

I don't see anywhere on the wireless settings tab of the gui to setup WPA,
so I left this blank and next went 'off script' and tried the command line
tools....

fell back on defining a wpa_supplicant.conf file with similar content to my
x86 equivalent file

I used
 wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -dd
and the diagnostics indicated that I was attempting to find an AP every 5
secs.
(just to check, I then fired up my PSP physically next to the PS3 and it
wirelessly finds the AP OK).

Any hints on how to proceed.
