6100 and 2.2

Hi all,

AS I wrote in my previous post, on day 05/08 I succeeded in booting my
machine under YDL 2.2.

Later on I struggled with Kde's installer files and apt-get. Now, I am proud
to announce that finally Kde's desktop has opened in front of my eyes.

I must admit it, i feel proud about myself for all the hard work I've been
putting into this thing ... it took me more than one month in order to
correctly install the sole operating system, but I can say I did it.
Obviously I would have never been able to achieve this goal had it not been
for your mailing list and it's friendly users.

Now the next step: I'm trying to understand if there is the possibility to
implement pppoe under Linux as I presently have an Adsl modem connected via
ethernet to the 6100.

I've been trying to read around but so far I found nothing really
explanatory.

Wouls someone be so kind as to explain what I must do in order to build a
working pppoe connection to the net?

This thing is quite compulsory for me as I do not have an Hfs partition so
I'm not able to share anything between Mac Os and Linux which, this way
would be "isolated" from the outside ...

Thanks in advance

lorenzo
