About to Give up on YDL for PM 6500s

I grabbed 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 from the site and burned all of them
successfully using cdrecord on my x86 linux box just fine.  

There are a lot of instructions/precautions when using Toast or Nero or
other burning software and making the disc.  Mainly DON'T have the image
mounted when you make it.

I just did 'cdrecord -v -dao [iso filename]'  : )

My 8500 took it just fine.
