still not able to start up graphical interface

Hi there,

I'd really appreciate some help here. I just managed
to install YDL and for some reason I'm not being able
to start up the graphical interface. This is what
happens:

(1) I start up the computer choosing IDL through
Yaboot;

(2) It keeps going, until the time for logging in.
Although I set it up during installation to get the
graphical login, I get the text login, which blinks
for a while than says:

"INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes"

(3) if I press enter and try the text login, I'm able
to log in, but if I type in "startx", it says:

...
Fatal server error: 
no screens found

...

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on
X server...


Any help will be greatly appreciated.

p.s.: By the way, I got a new IBook.
