You need to run "apt-get update packagename" where packagname is the name of
the package you want to update. If you don't include a package name, apt-get
will do something, but I'm not sure what.

Subject: apt-get in YDL 2.3

Hi all!

Trying to update everything here in an attempt to learn how. I've run
apt-get
update, and I get the following error:

rpmdb: region error detected; run recovery.
error: db3 error(-30987) from dbenv->open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run
data                       base recovery
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - (-30987)
E: could not open RPM database:cannot open Packages index using db3 -
(-30987)

Any idea on how to recover a database? Which database?
Thanks!
Rob
