CDRW problems

Hi there, I was wondering how to get my CDRW working, I can't even mount a 
cd on the desktop...I installed YDL 2.3 using my slow scsi cdrom, but I want 
to use my IDE cdrw instead...what kernal arguments do I need or what is the 
possible solution...thanks alot....Mark
