Help: Installed YDL2.3, but looking for old kernel

A bit of success to report... though I maybe a 'bit' is going tooooo far!

Reinstalled installed YDL (with partition formatting - strangely it said I
had two swap's and two boot partitions for some reason?!), BootX'ed and
things started to happen. However, ran into a few problems from here. I
managed to reach a text login prompt. But, having problems with startx -
I'll investigate further before calling for help.

ps. Aren't those video settings fun :)

I think the 2.4 kernel has a newer version of XFree86 (the X-window 
engine) and prossibly also newer video drivers (??).  Or you might 
have just selected video settings that didn't work at the same time 
you selected 2.4.  getting the video right is a perpetual challenge...
