Hey all,

i've a working ydl 2.1, i do have also the 2.2 cdrom 1

i wonder if i must update first the 2.1 and then, afterwards upgrade to 2.2.

or should i go straight to the 2.3 one ?

for the time being i'm using a smal scsi drive (2 gb) i'd like to use an ide
one (more than 15 gb left for ydl) but i have to change to kernel for that
purpose :

actually it is a 2.2.x one and i would have to switch to 2.4.x because the
ide disk is attached to an ata tempo card over the PCI bus (my machine is an
oldworld PPC 9500).

if i try to install from scratch, on a new partition, ydl 2.2 i can't get X
working --> black screen. (no prob with ydl 2.1)

that's the reason why i'd like to upgrade in a step by step basis.

incidentaly i've swith (BootX) the kernel to 2.4 without kernel panic only a
modules.dep warning at boot up saying the the directory for the modules of
kernel 2.4.x doesn't exists (which is obvious because i've choosen the 2.2
durind install).

then, two question :

how to get modules at the right place for kernel 2.4.x

when this is done,

how to swwitch from one scsi disk to the ide one, is it possible to do that
in a cp like fashion ?

Hoping you could help me,
