Radeon M6 LY on Titanium G4

Hi there,
I just installed Yellow Dog Linux 2.2
on a Titanium G4 with a graphic card 
ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY, I bought
this laptop about a month ago, specifically 
to run Linux (to demonstrate the GPL app
that I am writing: www.gamgi.org)

Could you confirm to me that indeed XFree86
supports this card with 24 or 32
bits for the 1152x768? resolution? this
is the default resolution for this laptop
on Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.

At the moment trying with Xconfigurator,
I only succed with 8 (or 16, I think)
bits depth... Am I doing something wrong?
I am quite a newbie regarding these
installation issues...
