Nvidia support

May be someone could help me on this
Does YDL really support Nvidia cards?
Cause in the installation process it recongnized the Geforce but when
starting X the only resolution it allows is 800x600 and in the XF86Config-4
file it appears: driver "fbdev" and not "nv" or "nvidia" which i doubt would
run only 800x600 on a 17" Monitor.
Please, is there anything i can do to improve this or this is IT.
