Sound Server Help Please!!!!

I recently installed YDL 2.2 on a Dual PowerMac G4
450.  The problem I am having is that when the GUI
loads (Gnome, Kde whatever) I get the message that the
sound server cannot load because of a missing file or
something, any Ideas.  I also cannot get The GUI set
to more than 256 colors any other Ideas?
