figuring out airport problem

It seems like there's not much response to questions at all on this
mailing list.

Anyway, I found that the reason X kept quitting on me was because my
XF86Config-4 file (located in /etc/X11) was setting the CorePointer to
/dev/mouse, but the trackpad on the "newworld" apple machines should be
at /dev/input/mice and /dev/mouse was actually the usb mouse that I had
plugged in sometimes. That explains why X would work when I had booted
up the machine with the usb mouse plugged in, but not work when I didn't.

I hope this is somewhat helpful to others. It seems my two major
problems with linux have been solved.

Good luck all on resolving your linux issues.
Eric
