I cannot get yaboot to start MacOS on a Rev B iMac with a 40 Gb hard =
drive and 192Mb memory. It simply hangs on start up after printing its =
selection message. I have tried Mandrake and used their partition scheme =
with the Mac OS partition first with similar result. I have tried the =
YDL approach and placed the Mac partition in the back. The current =
partition is extended Mac OS (~27Gb) and is labelled hd:7. I have a =
standard partition (~1Gb) labelled hd:8. All were created in drive setup =
with 10Gb free space physically before the Mac OS partitions. The free =
space was partitioned by the YDL installer into three partitions (boot, =
10Mb; swap, 256Mb; root, ~10Gb). YDL starts up fine. I have also =
successfully booted the Mac OS parition using MOL, but it runs too slow. =
I have tried to boot the Mac OS partition directly using Open Firmware =
and it hangs. I pointed pointed the Mac loader to hd:8 and at least got =
an error message. How do get this dual boot system to work?

Thanks,

Mike
