Internet connection but host not found

Have you tryed to run a traceroute out to any sites? Possibly using something 
that your ISP hosts and a site like yahoo.com. This might at least show where 
things drop off.
Also if you have an IP try to ping it from another station that is onlne and 
see if you can reach the IP. 
I currently have something similar going on with wireless on a SuSe 8.1 or 8.0 
install everything boots fine and looks okay. I have an IP however when I try 
to reach any site I get a host unreacable message. For now my workaround is 
to su and run rcnetwork restart after I boot and then everything routes 
correctly.
