Hello all! I work for Moravian college. We are currently attempting to
experiment with YDL on an older mac which we have available. It's a =
PowerPC
5400/180. The mac had been sitting in storage for quite some time now,
however it booted without much of a problem. It DID however have a bad =
hard
drive. The only hard drives we had available had already been formatted =
for
PC's, but I'd heard that it should work either way (partitioning =
software
would do the rest).
So, I replaced the hard drive with a 'new' 4 gig western digital caviar, =
but
now upon booting it brings up a picture of a folder with a blinking =
question
mark on it. I've tried booting off of the YDL cd by both holding C after
booting, and by holding cmd+opt+shift+del and neither option works. Must =
I
install one of the Mac OS's first? Or is there something else which I'm
missing?
Thank you all sincerely for your help.
-Matty
