a problem of "Mysterious murder of gdm.pid "

Hi,

I saw a post on
"http://lists.terrasoftsolutions.com/pipermail/yellowdog-newbie/2002-April/000034.html".
It said the problem of "
According to /var/run/gdm.pid
gdm was already running but seems to have been
murdered mysteriously".

Did anybody give you advices on this?  I met the same
problem and want to see why.
