I installed YellowdogLinux 2.1 on a LaCie SCSI hard disk and I chose
to install all the RPM packages. The installation proceeded without
any difficulty except that a few of the packages did not install. I
chose on bootup to get to a console first, and after I chose "root"
as the user and inserted my password,I used the command "startx" to
get to the graphical interface. In previous installations, this had
never been a problem. This time, when I used "startx", I got the
following error message:
"XAuth: error while loading shared libraries.LibXmuu.so.1:cannot load
shared object file: No such file or directory"
I went through the list of packages included in YellowdogLinux 2.1
which were of the library type. I found (1) libxml-1.8.9-5.ppc.rpm,
and(2)libxml2-2.4.ppc.rpm.
It turned out that they had not been installed, so using the "rpm -i"
command I installed them. However, the "startx" problem was not
solved, so obviously the file LibXmuu.so.1 was not part of those
libxml packages.
My question is this: Does anyone know which rpm package contains LibXmuu.so.1?
I would greatly appreciate getting the information, because I much
prefer workiing with a graphical interface.
