Hello Dylan,
I am faced with more or less the same problem and I hope that you know the
right solution.
Actually, I get the following message in the course of the booting process:
"Determining IP information for eth0
Bringing up interface eth0
Failed. No link present. Check cable?"
Do you think that your above described procedure would fix things?
Or do I have a hardware problem?
(My machine is a 15" LCD iMac)
