Need to switch from Window Maker back to Gnome

I ran in to the same problem - curiosity killed the cat, as they say
:-)
The easiest way to get out is just ALT-F2 (Run Program) and type
"switchdesk" and you'll have access to the Gnome Desktop switcher.
