Apple Airport Setup in YDL 3.0

I am in a bind with YDL 3.0 when i go into any of the network prefs i get this exception error and then when i try to take the cable from my 
airport and then put it in my ibooks nic port and restart it won't notice it and then i don't understand how i could fix it i have cable internet but i 
can't get on the internet so i can't tell you right in front of the thing but if some one could tell me how to fix and configure everything it would 
be awesome.
