Sound on Starmax

I'm feeling empowered!  I actually edited the XF86Config file to get out
of 800x600 and up to 1024x768.  I did use pico and not vi.  I still need
a book on my knee while doing anything in vi.

My final problem (hopefully) is the lack of sound.  While logging in I
get this message:

device /dev/dsp
can't be opened (no such device)

Any advice?
