Now you will be able to run the programs to configure your printer AS
SUPERUSER.

You need to be superuser to run lpadmin, service, and many others. Those
commands need to be on your PATH otherwise you have to give the full
pathname.

Make sure CUPS is running.
Make sure your cupsd.conf is correct. See the man page for cupsd.conf.

Read the link I sent you to make sure the usb device is correct.
