Another newbie web server question

Hello!

I'd like to use my YDL linux system more often, but I haven't due to
the fact that I run a web server on my OS X partition, and like to keep
it online. Now, I KNOW that linux is the great platform for Web
serving. I can't, however, seem to find a good tutorial on how to set
things up. In OS X, I know which folder to put my files in, and that's
all I need to know. In Linux, I'm guessing, there is a similar
directory structure, but I don't know it. I don't even know how to
"turn on" the web server. Are there any simple, Mac-centric tutorials
out there that could help me with this info? I've done some desultory
searching on the YDL archives...but can't seem to find a "how-to" on
serving a simple web site.

Thanks,

Rob
