Bluefish HTML editor

I use Bluefish when doing HTML or PHP work, and it's nice overall.
Sometimes, it has some glaring rough spots. For instance, on my Mandrake
9.1 AMD XP1700 machine, a simple cut and paste of say 3/4 of a page of
code from one page to the other will cause the application to freeze for
a surprisingly long period of time before the code gets pasted. It isn't
BBEdit, but it's free and improving.
