Cloning YDL partition like CCC does for OSX

I would like to clone my YDL main drive partition to a second hard drive's 
(pre-partitioned for YDL) main partition just like OSX's Carbon Copy Cloner 
functions for OSX.  The second hard drive is in the bus so  there's no issues with 
firewire, etc.  

Simply put, IS there an application for cloning the Linux file system out 
there?  I can't believe there isn't one for such a basic and common task.  Would 
appreciate details if it involves using terminal.
