YUM Peer reset

Hi One and all.

Yum hassles continue...

Installed YDL 3.0 on a PM7500 with G3 card and a Gs Beige 266 DT. Both
install went pretty well, BUT; when running YUM Update from the terminal
window the connection keeps resetting!!! I have cable internet on an SMC
router. I ran from Super User in my own account home directory, from /etc
where I went to replace the yum.conf folder (per David's suggestion) and
it failed. I replaced it with the old one. Finally I ran yum from being
logged in on the root account as administrator. Same thing. I have spent
24+ hrs on this and it's infuriating. My Red Hat 9 on a Dell Pc has no
trouble updating at all. I thought maybe the Router firewall was a
problem!
Anyway any suggestion would be helpful... BTW the YUM is the most up to
date version.

Don't know where to go from here...

Cheers,
G.
