xine plays fine for me! Although I admit to playing cds with it and
letting goom run amuck. There's a way to search quickly for all the
things xine or anything else needs should you not know what it is.
Do the following:
[root@arakus root]# yum search xine*

You may already be familiar with the use of the * which tells the
computer to search for any item following that character sequence.
This is quite useful as many times you have no clue as to how a
programmer named a package which you are interested in installing.
What is really nice is yum lists what it finds as "available" and what
is already "installed". Here is another search for gkrellm*, just to
make a point:
[root@arakus root]# yum search gkrellm*

You also see any errors along the way. Make sure your yum is current
and it should work something like the above or better!
