NIC card in PowerMac g3 - OS 8.6

Hi, 
 
I came across your posting in a newsgroup somewhere and was hoping you
could help me out.  I am trying to install an SMC9432TX network card
into my g3, and have downloaded the SMC MacOS8.5 drivers from the SMC
website.  The package comes with a bunch of install scripts that Im
supposed to run, but when I run them, MacOS complains that it cant open
the application that the scripts were created in.  Am I doing something
wrong?  How can I install the drivers manually?  I also noticed that the
scripts have a different icon on my g5 than in my g3.  The icon on my g5
is a black rectangle, looks to simulate a command prompt or something. 
I think I am missing some sort of scripting component on my g3 but I
have no idea how to resolve this problem.  Can you help me???
