Newbie problems

Hello!

Have tried umpteen time now to install YDL 4.0 onto a 500mhz G4 AGP and 
an 800mhz 14" iBoom. in both case, the sound card is not found. 
(device/dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)
Also - Printers are found via CUPs, but I cannot print. Somehow the job 
goes somewhere, doesn't register in the print manager.

Funny thing was, that at least sound DID work with YDL 3.x
