I would almost agree Jeff but computers are way ahead of cars. It is
really the wrong technological comparison. You might not have heard but
it was said during the 80's that had a Rolls Royce improved as fast as
computer technology did THEN a RR would THEN had cost pennies. We are
WAY beyond that now and today an RR would be without ANY value. Think
about it.

A better technological comparison might be amoungst knives. For
instance, comparing a samauri tanto or modern ceramic diamond edge vs. a
flint rock shaped cutting edge of the Stone Age era. OR Historically a
Bowie v. a Spanish sword, which is historically the reason why the
Spanish sword fell into disuse in the Old West. The Bowie knife was an
advance at a time when guns were yet still unreliable and took too much
time to fiddle with.

Maybe a page of the Outward Bound survival school or even Boy Scouts
camping manual would be a better statement in this discussion. The
right tool used the right way is beyond evaluation. The venerable Euell
Gibbons comes to mind with that one, as does Heidegger who wrote in many
tomes that the appropriate mastery and use of technology is not really
about what is made but how well one THINKS and to what depth of THOUGHT
a Dasein proceeds and expands into regarding the World.
