YDL not recognizing partition

So the latest problem I'm having with the installation of YDL 5.0 is  
that after selecting english as the native language, it can't find  
the partition table on device SDA is unreadable, and wants to  
reformat the drive to make a new partition.  I've backed up the ps3  
data using the ps3 utility, but I'm hesitant to wipe the drive.  Any  
thoughts?  Thanks everyone.
