This method was originally recommended by Ron Rogers Jr. which he
posted to the YDL newbie list back on 7/27/07.

Background:
For a variety of reasons yum was redesigned so that it refers to
yum.repos.d for improved security and efficiency for the YDL 5
release.  You can go into /etc/yum.repos.d and you'll see files all
ending in .repo which signifies to yum the standard places to look.

The modification you are interested in is the creation of a file
which will contain the instructions which yum will follow to access the
extras within Fedora 5.  If yum is not further modified, then these
instructions could hold true into future releases of YDL.  The file I
created for this purpose is called fedora.repo (you can call it what
you wish, however it's name should remind you of it's purpose).

Use your favorite text editor to create and save it... I prefer vim/vi.
What follows is what is within the file:

baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/5/ppc

That's it!  Just 5 lines including the comment statement, which I
include out of courtesy.  IF yum current design is carried forward
through every release, and the location of future versions of Fedora
remain where they are, then the only change needed above in the future
could be to change 5 to whatever future version of Fedora is then
appropriate (to match that release of YDL).

Note that creating this file with this entry doesn't affect the
files installed by anaconda for the standard YDL 5 installation.
