Yellow Dog Linux Bugfix Announcement
------------------------------------
Package: yellowdog-release
Issue Date: June 26, 2002
Priority: low
Advisory ID: YDU-20020626-3
1. Topic:
Updated yellowdog-release packages are available.
2. Problem:
The yellowdog-release rpm that shipped with Yellow Dog Linux
2.3 doesn't properly re-identify a system as YDL 2.3
after a 2.2 to 2.3 upgrade. This updated package fixes the
problem.
3. Solution:
a) Updating via apt...
We suggest that you use the apt-get program to keep your
system up-to-date. The following command(s) will retrieve
and install the fixed version of this update onto your system:
apt-get update
apt-get install yellowdog-release
b) Updating manually...
Download the updates below for your version of Yellow Dog Linux
and then run the following rpm command.
(Please use a mirror site)
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/updates/yellowdog-2.3/
ppc/yellowdog-release-2.3-2.ppc.rpm
