Yellow Dog Linux Enhancement Announcement
-----------------------------------------
Package: compat-gcc
Issue Date: Jun 02,2003
Priority: low
Advisory ID: YDU-20030602-7
1. Topic:
Updated compat-gcc packages are available.
2. Problem:
The compat-gcc package provides a compatibility compiler that is
compatible with Yellow Dog Linux 2.3. The version of compat-gcc that
comes with Yellow Dog Linux 3.0 is missing a compatibility version of
the g77 fortran compiler.
Users of g77 that require strict compatibility with a Yellow Dog Linux
2.3 platform are advised to update to the packages listed in this
advisory which address the problem.
3. Solution:
a) Updating via apt...
We suggest that you use the apt-get program to keep your
system up-to-date. The following command(s) will retrieve
and install the fixed version of this update onto your system:
apt-get update
apt-get install compat-gcc
b) Updating manually...
Download the updates below and then run the following rpm command.
(Please use a mirror site)
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
