Yellow Dog Linux Bug Fix Announcement
-------------------------------------

Package: GDM
Issue Date: Nov 19, 2004
Priority: low
Advisory ID: YDU-2004-11-19

1. Topic:

Updated GDM packages are available.

2. Problem:

In versions of Yellow Dog Linux 4.0 dated prior to 2004-11-07, the
Graphical Display Manager (or GDM) would crash if a user attempted
to select a language other than the default (English).

3. Solution:

        a) Updating via yum
We suggest that you use the yum program to keep your
system up-to-date. The following command(s) will retrieve
and install the fixed version of this update onto your system:
                yum install gdm

        b) Updating manually
                rpm -Fvu [filenames]
                ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/updates/
                        yellowdog-4.0/ppc/gdm-2.6.0.0-5.ydl.3.ppc.rpm
4. Verification

MD5 checksum Package
-------------------------------- ----------------------------
[Yellow Dog Linux 4.0]
59519c655a5525e43369f06bc8968456 ppc/gdm-2.6.0.0-5.ydl.3.ppc.rpm
744cdda560af876d819d5e926298fd3b SRPMS/gdm-2.6.0.0-5.ydl.3.src.rpm

If you wish to verify that each package has not been corrupted or
tampered with, examine the md5sum with the following command:
        md5sum <filename>
