1. Topic:
Updated Kernel and Mac-On-Linux packages are available.
2. Problem:
The kernel shipped with Yellow Dog Linux did not support thermal
management on G5 towers shipping at the time (PowerMac7,3). The
kernel also did not sleep (suspend-to-ram) on 15" Aluminum PowerBooks
or iBook G4s.
3. Solution:
a) Updating via yum
We suggest that you use the yum program to keep your
system up-to-date. The following command(s) will retrieve
and install the fixed version of this update onto your system:
yum update
b) Updating manually
rpm -Fvu [filenames]
