Hi Can,
Any idea which video card you received with your system? I hope it's either a
120 or a 130 card because those are the other two cards that work with Linux. So
while you think we gave you a cheaper card, there's a reason for it 8-)

Hmmm this sounds like an 2.2.x kernel. This is probably one of two things,
either your video card isn't a 120 or a 130 (look on the back of the machine on
the tailstock of the card, you should see a letter and a number... what are
they?), or it's possible you're running into a bootloader bug that sounds
really familiar, I've posted a patch to 2.2.17 out on sourceforge that addressed
that.
If you have access to a PowerPC box, I'd recommend building a 2.4.2 kernel and
using that to install YDL, however if you can't drop me an email at
