RedHat made a nice gcc3 rpm set that install _alongside_ your existing
gcc. This is useful for those who want to be able to test gcc3 without
fully switching to it.

At the minimum, you can install binutils, libgcc, and gcc3. This will
allow to compile some C programs after changing the makefiles to use gcc3
instead of cc or gcc.
