Hi Guys,
I did a very stripped down install of Yellowdog to a HD then I stripped it
down some more by removing as much stuff as possible then I copied it to a
zip disk and made the zip disk bootable. When I try to boot from the zip
disk I get the message:
Kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
I have tried using init=single in the kernel params from BootX. I checked
the directory structure of the zip disk and it matches the structure for a
yd install to a hard drive. init and inittab and telinit are in the correct
places. The machine is a powermac 6500 w/32MB RAM and a 4.2GB hdisk and
zipdrive. YD runs fine from the internal drive. I can use the zip disk
from yd as well.
Has anyone tried anything like this before? Will it even work? Do I need to
change some other kernel parameter?
Thanks,
