Hey gang,

Figured I'd post this question here so to avoid being burried in today's
whining on the general list.

I'm trying to get console access via serial cable on a briQ. I
installed the mgetty rpm from the 2.1 CD and I've setup
these files as follows:

/etc/mgetty+sendfax/mgetty.config

speed 9600
port ttyS0
debug 4
term vt100
ignore-carrier true
login-prompt @ console login:
direct y
toggle-dtr n

/etc/inittab (added this line, and removed mingetty)

S0:12345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty ttyS0 9600

/etc/securetty also has

ttyS0

I'm then trying to use ptelnet on my Palm IIIxe to connect (which has
connected to other vt100 type serial ports no prob).

I know that I'm connected to the briQ and I'm getting *something* cuz I
can cat /etc/issue > /dev/ttyS0 which causes ptelnet to complain about a
connection error.

Any ideas as to what might be going wrong? There's no .config in
/usr/src/linux/ but I'm assuming that the kernel (2.2.19-1mbriq - shipped
with the briQ) is compiled with CONFIG_SERIAL_CONSOLE=y.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris
