Ok Dan,

Appreciate your time in answering. I think I have found the problem.
With the old
2.2.6 usb keymap I had to have the "xmodmap key 50 = backspace" etc
command in my startup file.
Removed that and I got my "|" key back. However I still to not have
backspace on the delete key, what
is the new key number to change instead of "50"??
