I don't have a direct answer for you, just some clues as to where to
start maybe.

* man XFree86 or man XFree86Config

At the end of one (or both) of them is a 'See Also' section. As I it refers to several man pages of different drivers that work with XFree86. This can give you a hint already at the possible other drivers.

Here is where I found most of the information I needed on ati.

On http://www.xfree86.org/4.1.0/Status2.html#2 I found already that the
voodoo banshee card is supported via the glide driver. There is more to
read here, like some warnings.

I suggest you search that webpage for more information.
