Subject: colors & volume control on iBook

As some of you know I just built 2.4 kernel (cool beans). I've got the sound
working, but I can't really control the volume on the linux side. Also, how
do I configure colors depth to be more than 8 bit? Xconfigurator doesn't
offer it as an option anymore. Is there a cure. I'm running YDL 1.2
