When you get to the default/custom choice, do an ALT / CTRL / FN / F2
(holding and keeping them suppressed). This will give you a prompt that
looks like this: Fuji>

While at this prompt, type in the command as follows: echo 0 >
/proc/sys/dev/cdrom/check_media

This will tell the install program that the CDROM has not been detected.
This should solve your problem and at least let you get past this one.

After you have executed the above command, do an ALT / CTRL / FN / F1 to
get back to the install program.

I cant get the new ibook to install with my cdrw/dvd drive. This is the
following config. g3 600mhz, 640mb of ram, 30GB, cdrw/dvd. It wont install
because it cannot find the drive... so i followed the instructions, but i
cant get it to detect the cdrom drive. Help?
