I'm starting to think there is a SCSI driver problem. I'm working on a
powerwave which has two scsi buses (it uses the same motherboard as the
9500). The installer always finds the CD drive. However, on most formatting
attempts of the linux partition, I get scsi i/o errors (for some reason the
swap partition formats fine). I've tried disconnecting the external scsi bus
devices with no difference. The device I am trying to format/install is the
second drive on the primary scsi bus. The drive seems to run fine in MacOS
9.1. I have used both kernel loads from the bootx installer with the same
results. Using text vs graphical installer doesn't seem to make a
difference. Ramdisk sizes is 64000 (i've tried up to 128k with no
difference). I've played with partition size and order with no repeatable
differences. I've even tried another disk on the external scsi bus with no
difference.

Are there any parameters I should try? Any other ideas? Frustration level is
running high....:)
