Subject: 1.2.1 vs 2.1 Questions

I am happily running YDL 1.2.1 on a Starmax 4000.
But, there have been no recent YUP updates for YDL 1.2.1, and no new
Kernel patches for months.
Is 1.2.1 still supported in this way? Or, should I just smell the
coffee and upgrade the machine to 2.1?
Can I easily upgrade an existing installation to 2.1, or am I looking
at a lot of work? And, are there good reasons to upgrade to 2.1, of,
as the machine is happily running along on 1.2.1, should I just leave
it?
(The machine functions as a LAMP server and there is little or no
user interaction).
