You might have the same problem I was having .... check to make sure
that your system is not trying to use eth0 instead of eth1.

Also run /sbin/iwconfig and see what the output might be. I posted here
just a couple of days ago regarding my tiBook and some of these
issues. Please see my comments, go to the URLs in my post, and
see if any of that will give you some clues.

station. I have a hub connected to the base station's Ethernet port,
and I am able to get an address when my 8500 is connected.

I recall this issue being brought up when I was trying to get my
8500/SMP running and it was never addressed. This is a critical issue
for me as I need to build or obtain the latest kernel (2.4.10 got
installed from the CD.) I hope someone can respond to the issue of
DHCP not working for me.
